As some of you may know, I was the original author of the WP Contact Form plugin for WordPress back in 2004. I took my inspiration from PhotoMatt’s contact form and turned it into a plugin that everybody could use. In late 2005 – early 2006, spammers began to exploit the form and I began to run out of time to update the plugin. For a while, there were no updates and then others began to develop alternatives. Until now, the original WP Contact Form was managed by myself and Peter Westwood (@westi). I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who in some way helped me develop the original WP Contact Form.

Update (10/2010):

Talking to Westi recently, we decided that neither of us have time to further maintain WP Contact Form and that there were currently better options out there. Since the options handled what we had planed to improve and fix, there was no use duplicating effort. With that said, I suggest you use:

Gravity Forms – A high tech plugin that lets you build custom forms and is extremely extensible.
